Morning Bird is the intimate, east-facing studio at Stellar Violets Cottage – a light-filled sanctuary for artists, writers, and those seeking simplicity. Between forests and orchards, find golden morning light, French influences, compact kitchenette, and queen bed. A place to read, write, reflect and rest where small birds call the garden home.

The space

Morning Bird is a fully self-contained studio that greets the dawn with golden first light filtering through each room. Queen bed (hotel-quality “cloud” mattress), ensuite bathroom, living area and compact kitchenette with generous bar fridge and 2-burner induction stovetop. Beautiful bay French door window in living room with its fleur de lys tiles overlooks north gardens, while east-facing doors capture morning light. Jarrah benchtops & bedroom floor connect with local forests. Jarrah deck off bedroom with bathroom connection. Recently renovated with full insulation, reverse cycle heating/cooling, soft lime wash paint throughout. No TV provided (by design) – a place for peaceful solitude and creativity.

Guest access

You have private access to Morning Bird Studio including your own step entrance, all rooms, and jarrah deck. Morning Bird is designed for enjoying beautiful garden views from inside the sunlit bay French door window that frame the gardens perfectly for contemplation. Guest laundry available in a nearby building (map provided).

When you book Morning Bird, you don’t have access to outdoor clawfoot tubs unless you book the Heartland Studio as well. But we don’t want you to miss out on the hot tub experience, so we installed a clawfoot tub just outside the Morning Bird bedroom on the deck.

The adjacent studio (Heartland) may be occupied during your stay, unless you book both. Our historic rail carriages glimpsed beyond the garden may become available a little down the track through select bookable experiences and events (enquire via our contact page here).

Other things to note

Morning Bird is the eastern wing of Stellar Violets Cottage, separated from the soulful Heartland Studio by two sets of jarrah doors for privacy. Located between forest and orchards, 6km from Manjimup town centre.

Morning offers views & encounters with small birds (including wrens, finches, honeyeaters, parrots, and silver eyes) in the gardens. The garden around your bedroom deck is young, meaning the envisioned green glade of privacy is growing slowly over time.
